Who we are

The People’s Insurance – Indigenous was created to help Native American individuals and families access healthcare coverage with clarity, respect, and understanding.

We know that navigating health insurance can be confusing, especially when systems were not built with our communities in mind. Our work is rooted in listening first, explaining clearly, and walking alongside people as they make decisions about their health and their families.

We focus on Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace coverage and Medicare guidance, with a strong understanding of the special protections available to members of federally recognized tribes. Our goal is not to sell plans, but to help people understand their options and choose what fits their lives.

Our Approach

We believe healthcare access should be grounded in community and trust.

That means:

  • Taking time to listen

  • Speaking in plain language

  • Respecting culture, sovereignty, and personal choice

  • Protecting privacy and confidentiality

  • Supporting people before, during, and after enrollment

Every conversation is treated with care and respect, whether someone is enrolling for the first time or reviewing coverage they already have.

Why We Do This Work

For many Native families, healthcare access has come with barriers — distance, cost, lack of information, or past experiences that made the process feel overwhelming or impersonal.

We started The People’s Insurance – Indigenous to help remove those barriers and make the process more approachable. Our work is about strengthening families, supporting elders, and helping communities stay healthy and informed.
